The following is an extract from the Constitution of The QuadPara Association of KZN as amended (to change the name, and to include paraplegics) at the AGM of the Association on 25th August 2005:-

1. AIMS

1.1. To protect and promote the interests of quadriplegics and paraplegics­ by:-

1.1.1. Providing serviced accommodation for quadriplegics and paraplegics who require it;

1.1.2. Providing temporary accommodation for quadriplegics and paraplegics;

1.1.3. Providing nursing servics for residents of established self help facilities;

1.1.4. Providing training facilities for staff to care­ for quadriplegics and paraplegics who are accommodated outside self help facilities;

1.1.5. Assisting and advising quadriplegics, paraplegics, and their families in the transition period  between rehabilitation and returning to society.

1.1.6. Preparing quadriplegics and paraplegics for re-entry to the open labour market.

1.2. To obtain from the public and private sector such aids and equipment necessary to enable quadriplegics and paraplegics to adapt to as normal a lifestyle as possible.

1.3. To achieve the following additional aims:-

1.3.1. To publicise and make the public aware of the needs and problems of quadriplegics and paraplegic

1.3.2. To encourage any legislation that will assist in the plight of quadriplegics and paraplegics and further the aims of the­ ASSOCIATION.

1.3.3. To raise funds from the public and private sector to further the aims of the ASSOCIATION.

1.3.4. To publicise and make the public aware of the causes of quadriplegia and paraplegia, and encourage prevention.
